CA 357 asked me to post this information here in the Legal forum for fellow 2A activists who wish to get involved in California.

We stop the eradication of our 2A rights in California by getting actively involved in the political process. Last year, we were only able to stop every single gun control bill in the State Legislature cold because of an overwhelming surge in grassroots activism, largely centered around the Open Carry Movement. The controversy in the press served as method for us to get our message (and therefore, facts and evidence about the benefits of a lawfully and publicly armed general populace) out to the public on a wide scale. This year, seeing the alarming surge in support for our cause, CA's Democrat legislators are pushing back harder than ever, as you can clearly see from the video attached to this Examiner article covering the recent Assembly Floor vote on AB 144, the Open Carry ban bill for 2011.

If you are in Southern California, then get involved with South Bay Open Carry and get with them for their weekly Open Carry meetups. They are our best resource in SoCal. Feel free to sign the petition against AB 144 found here and spread it around to everyone you know in CA. Last year, we were able to get almost 5,000 signatures before the end of the Legislative session on August 31, 2010. We should easily be able to get more signatures than that this year.

And if it is at all possible, then it would be a great help for you to be present at the State Capitol to express your opposition to any and all gun control bills as a private citizen during Committee votes on the various anti-gun bills.

So, as you can see, there is plenty to do to help secure our 2A right in CA. Thanks for your interest and support. We can certainly use your help.

Btw, AB 144 will be heard in the California State Senate Public Safety Committee at 9:30 AM tomorrow morning (6/7/11).

I could not find email addresses for the Senators.

Darrell Steinberg is virulently anti-gun. I have contacted him any number of times and he isn't even rational on the subject.

He was a City Councilman in Sacramento when I first moved there and he was an uber liberal then.

I no longer even attempt to contact him. People like him have chosen sides and they aren't interested in logic or truth.

Is ANYTHING legal there? I was just looking at blades on another site, and almost EVERY SINGLE THING said "not available in CA"

What was weird is VA is relaxed about EVERYTHING, but you cant have a Chinese star? LOL! "Not available in CA and VA"
