Hey everyone, my dad recently passed down a family heirloom. Its a .22LR Stevens model 84c. The problem is that the bolt has recently gone bad. Every time i try to chamber another round, the firing pin slips out of place. I would like to get this gun fixed and back to working condition since it is a very old family gun. Any ideas on where i can find a new bolt for it?

Don't be quick to buy a bolt(which could cost as much as a complete rifle). It could be the trigger that is the problem. Or debris in bolt or trigger area.

After doing some research on the gun, it seems to have been made somewhere around the 30's or 40's.

I did a close examination of the bolt itself and found something interesting. The ridge on the back of the bolt that keeps the pin cocked back seems to have worn down through years of use. So much so that it doesnt hold the pin back anymore.

    Any ideas?
