Some of you may remember that just over a year ago I picked up an old .22 bolt action that i refinished? Well time has come to sell her to somebody who will get more use out of her.

Stevens 84c bolt action circa 1940's. also sold as Springfield 84c amongst other things back in the 30's and 40's.

Very versatile as it Shoots .22Long rifle .22long and .22Shorts. Magazine also feeds all of these with no problem.

Barrel is in good condition and it shoots very well. Good rifling!

Some minor pitting on outside of barrel showing its 70 year age with a couple of small dings here and there.

Has sling mounts, new 10 round mag and a new butt plate which I spent ages sourcing.

Will throw in a basic sling, a Remington scope worth roughly $60 (not the crappy one shown in photos) and a couple hundred rnds of ammo for the right offer.

Shown with cheap scope, now has a better remington scope.

Here's the stock after I refinished it with multiple layers of boiled linseed oil. I've used it for plinking and small game hunting since then so it's been out in the woods a fair bit although its had minimal rounds through it over the past year. I could be tempted to re-sand it and put another dozen or so costs of oil into it for the right offer or trade.

It's currently sitting at the back of my safe and rarely see's the light of day so I'm hoping to sell it or trade it to somebody who will appreciate it more.

    Thanks guys

I should mention to the moderators that I intended to post this in the classified section but every time I tried the app would shut down. Any help moving it would be appreciated.

LMAO---Might be your attachments. Great lines and nice finish,
but I'm thinking quite a bit newer than the 50's.:)

I researched it online and contacted the manufacturer and was told that its definitely 1940's due to the style and type of script used on the barrel markings, after tue photos they added 'savage' and also changed the font type.

What makes you think it's newer?

    Just to confirm:

The model 84 was made from 1936 to 1945. If the gun is labeled "J Stevens" then it's pre-1940. If it just says "Stevens" then it's 1940 or later.

When I click on the attachments in your first post, I DO NOT get pictures
of a rifle. Barely clad, female, and DEFINITELY post 40's. What do you see?

Or do we have something screwy going on? I see two attachments listed, #12815 and #12816, directly above and below
the "Shown with cheap scope, now has a better remington scope." line.

The pix you POSTED are fine. Good looking old rifle. I've got that could be
the beat up twin to yours.

The pix you LINKED TO as an attachment are the interesting ones. It seems
to be that not everyone can see them? Weird.

Here is a link to the pic that comes up when I click on the linked attachment in your original post:

I covered the 84c in some of that non sticky camo tape to stop it getting banged up.
