I was just wondering about steel case ammo.I've heard heresay from guy's who are of questionable intellect when it comes to firearms.I was wondering if at all would steel casings cause harm to both my AR and my pistols.I already know how dirty the powder ,plants like Tula and Wolf, use. But what I'm really looking for is good solid info weather steel casings will do harm to my firearms or not.

You will wear out the gun before any appreciable damage arises from steel cases. Any extractor or bolt damage that comes about from steel happens long before normal replacement of those parts happens anyway.

Most firearms see extractor ejector replacement at 20-30000 rounds or less. There is plenty of evidence that steel has no real effect on those parts.

The only negatives of steel ammo is increased ammounts of carbon in the chamber due to steel not able to seal the chamber as well as brass does. And its not easily reloadable altho it can be done.

Not all of the steel-cased stuff is equal. A buddy has a basic DPMS AR that chokes on Wolf and Brown Bear ammo but has nooooo problem with Tula. I would try a few boxes before buying a case.

My SKS seems to be omnivorous.
