Does anyone make them?
if you can find one from the 70's made in the old brazil plant that now belongs to taurus. i think those were steel frame.
Nope! not steel.
Beretta used to make the Steel 1, an all steel framed beretta. It was made between 2004–2006. Both single-action-only and single/double-action variants exist. It was used and desirable for competitive shooting because of its steel frame (for added weight and strength). Also, it had a frame-mounted safety and Vertec-style grip-frame.
How come those frame are not made for the competitive shooter in the aftermarket?
Also, is the frame mounted safety better for comp shooting?
My grandfather was into this in the 90's, and I am thinking of picking it up now.
It is not "better' per say but easier to catch on the draw than the slide mounted upward swept saftey common on the 92 series.
