    Hey y'all,
I am a MA resident and have my FID. My question is, does anyone know if the following states require and out of state permit to transport through and or operate a small capacity long arm in said state. New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and New York.

    Thanks

Transporting through a state is governed by Federal law. Be certain that you are in compliance with every requirement regarding the location and condition of said firearm.

Operating is a different story entirely. A good source is a site like opencarry.org where many of the individual state laws are referenced. Again be certain that any info is up to date and current.
Other sources are the legal code for firearms of the states in question. Do not rely on any advice you get here, we are not lawyers and the advice is worth what you paid for it.
