Has anyone tried using the standard size trigger with the SRT system? Or is the short trigger the only one that works with this system? I ask because I have fairly large hands and feel that the standard trigger would suit me better as it should increase the length of pull. If the standard size does work with the SRT system, it would be replacing the short triggers on both my p229 and p220 carry. Any insight on this is appreciated.

Sorry I have no actual experience to give you on this one. However this is something you should be able to ask Sig Sauer customer service. You might even be able to find it in their FAQ section.

Thanks SigArmored. I wasn't able to find what i needed on the FAQ section but I'll give customer service a call. I've checked several websites and YouTube and was surprised not to have found some info on the subject. Someone out there must have tried this before. Thanks again

So I contacted Sig costumer service and they confirmed that the standard trigger could be used with the SRT system. I wouldn't be able to change it out myself though if a wanted to keep my limited life time warranty. I'd need to send it in, or find a certified Sig Sauer armorer. I have no problem with either choice but tasks like these, I love to perform on my own.

I have an SRT trigger set up on my p229 from the factory and on appearance alone it looks like the standard trigger not the thinner one usually associated worse the SRT.

Have you tried both styles? If so, which do you prefer and why?

I have tried both my bf has an older Sig 9 single stack(not sure of the model )made in Germany w/o the srt the pull is much longer but not bad for what it is.I have a 226 with the srt and the pull is way less and an extremely crisp break.

Both of my Sigs are equipped with the SRT system and the "short trigger". The way Sig CS explained it to me was, the trigger is not a part of the SRT system. The SRT system consists of the sear and safety lever only (add an extra part for the p220 & one other model), and was designed to shorten up the length it would take to reset the trigger after the initial double action pull, which is why the trigger can be swapped between the "short trigger" and the "standard size trigger", as it will not effect the function of the SRT system. He basically told me that the short trigger itself was designed for small/medium size hands to help offset the bulkiness of the grips.

There is a discernible difference between the 2. But I have to say that with practice you can get comfortable with either. The SRT reset definitely is noticeably shorter.

I like the short reset a lot. It's the "length of pull" that I'd like to change. The distance between the rear of the grip and the front of the trigger face. The standard trigger would create a longer distance then the short trigger would. But it would still be equipped with the SRT system.

For example, if these two Sigs were both equipped with the SRT systems, the one on the right (short trigger) would be my current configuration, and the one on the left (standard trigger) is how I would like it configured. I think the one on the left would be a better fit for a large hand?

    Update:

I swapped out the short trigger on my p229 elite dark with the standard size trigger. Perfect fit! I would absolutely recommend that customization to anyone with larger hands. It gives you a little more length of pull. Just enough so that your not pinching your trigger finger against the frame. Figured I'd update this thread to give a little advice to anyone with the same questions and problem a had.
