Anyone pocket carry the compact SR 9c or 40c?
    How does it work out?

My desire is to get a 45 for pocket carry and I may have to decide on either waiting for the SR45c or buying a different option now like the slim Springfield XDs 45. I'm also still considering the XDm compact, but it's bigger than the XDs and may be too big for pocket carry.

I'm also just now starting to look at any other options. Beretta doesn't make a sub-compact 45 yet.

SR45c might be just what I'm looking for if the SR9c and SR40c are OK for pocket carry.

It would have to be one big pocket! I own a SR9c and there is no way it will come close to fitting into any of my pockets

I've found even the Ruger LC9 to be on the large size, and it is somewhat shorter and much thinner than the SR series.

Unless you're big dude, or wear a lot of cargo shorts, pocket carrying a compact may be a tough proposition.

I carry the LC9 in a pocket sometimes. The SR's are too big unless your carrying it in a front coat pocket in Winter.

Yeah, I'm kinda thinkin you're closest option for pocket carry in .45 ACP is gonna be the XDs.

Like others said above, if you have a big pocket, you can try the SR9c/SR40c and the Uncle Mike's pocket holster size 4 for pocket carry. I tried but the SR9c was a bit too big for my pockets and it printed real bad. I am sure the SR45c, if Ruger makes it in the future, will be remarkably larger than the SR9c & SR40c.

The SR45 is 1.27" width same as the 9 & 40, so I expect very close dimensions.

I made this chart. The SRc looks like it would pocket carry to me since I carry the LCR no prob. The only thing is the LCR is 1.28 w at the cylinder, but the SRc is 1.27 width all the way so it will feel bulkier and it is heavier. Dimension though are in there.

That way when your done shooting it you can hit someone with it! (Jk) seriously. One of my Pals bought the SR40, after trying the 40C. Said he had no issue with the Smaller C,..but His wife might. I know His 40 is his HD gun, he carries an LCR 357 @ work. In a service industry there have been times he needs to "collect" from Customers who try and "Stiff" him or the company after work is performed...
Another friend Bought the SR 45 & Both SR 1911's. Shot his SR @ our range. confirms my continued Moratorium on Shooting 45 for me...too painful. Call me a WUSS if you want,..but the Shockwave throws out my Bad discs & my fusion.....Only "45's" I'm managing these days is Dad's Old Semi-Auto Tommy gun that the Pres.(then-the 1970's) of Auto Ord. Gave my Dad commemorating his "combat action" in Korea during the war. It seems Dad actually Earned His PH & BS,...one of the guys he saved was the Pres. of Auto Ord.'s Dad.....And my Wife's New Rossi Judge Carbine-45LC/.410..

I have the SR9c and an M&P Shield 9. The SR9c is I believe a tad large for pocket carry. I generally carry it more in the winter (or what we in Florida call Winter) as there is a little more clothing to cover it. I generally carry it IWB, though I am looking for a holster for belt carry.

I can carry the Shield in a pocket, though i think it is pushing the envelope on size.

I tried carrying my SR9c in pocket for a while. It would fit when wearing some cargo shorts and pants, but in the end, I switched to a Kahr.

It can be done, but it's a stretch in many cases.

NAT, take a look at the Bianchi Carryloc for a belt holster. I looked a long time for one I liked and this fits the SR9c perfect and is easy to wear. I got one for my Glock 17... not so much.
