It depends on what you're looking for in a 1911. If you're looking for more of a GI configuration then the SR1911 is not a good choice, but if you're looking for a more customized 1911 that will not break the bank in my opinion you can't beat the SR1911. I admit I'm a Ruger fan, so naturally I recommend it, but I also strongly recommend trying to get to a shop that has one or other 1911's and "try" them out. I've only had the opportunity to hold one once, because the shop I work at can not keep them in stock, and based on my limited time fondling it.... I mean holding it , it seemed very good quality and a very well priced for what you get.

Well I'm a big Ruger fan myself. I have a series 70 that I like. I'm not looking for any one feature. I just like owning more. I was not a fan of the Remington and I automatically like the SR because it is a Ruger.

Sounds like you've really already made up your mind, you just don't know it yet.

I would say go ahead and get one. If we could get one back in stock I would love to purchase it myself ;).

If just as good as all the ruger guns than it is probably a good choice
