Sprint employees fired for capturing shoplifter - Denver News - The Latest Word Two sprint employees who work in a mall were on break. They hear an older security guard yell for help while chasing a man. They chase the suspect down and detain him. Off-duty cop sees the men detaining the suspect and helps. Suspect was charged with stealing software from an Apple Store. They are thanked by everyone at the scene and treated like heroes by other mall employees. Several days later Sprint corporate asks them to describe what happened. They do and they are fired for violating Sprint's "do not confront thieves" policy. (Nothing was stolen from Sprint and these guys were on break) They don't want to sue for wrongful termination because they say going back wouldn't be the same they would be treated different. I don't blame them at all. It's a non-issue for me, Sprint's network sucks in my area so I don't use them, but if your considering a switch in the future, keep this in mind.
