Just got this new in the box and didnt notice the marks near to the rear sight til after I got it home. I realize that light marks are normal when they install sights but these are in the steel and the slide was finished after the marks were made. Thinking of sending it into Springfield but I am afraid it'll come back worse than what it is now. Any opinions?

They aren't that big in the photo ( much more obvious in person). Look just above the rear sight in the sight track (right between the sight and the ambi safety), there are three dings/gouges in the steel. I am being a little picky. But when you spend that much on a 1911, you should be.

Its a gun- Hopefully it'll get more marks from use

I see them and honestly don't know what they are doing there. But I can't see ti as a big problem either. Maybe look around and see if you can find another one and see if it has them too.
