Would love to have one of their 1911's but alas will live with my 92s. Focussed on the long guns with the budget.

I am looking at the mil.-spec. 45 1911 right now. I have shot my father-in-laws. Loved it. He also has to XD in the .45- 5".

I am a fan of SA myself...I own XDM 40 3.8 and the 1911 Loaded MC Operator and I can't be happier with my choices and I haven't had one problem with them what so ever!

I also own the MC Operator and LOVE it. XDMs are great guns, but I am not a fan of the grip or all the writing/texture on the frame

I initially liked the XD when I fired it but then when I fired the XDM it was taken to the next level for me....so XDM ;-)

Any given reason? Or just a feel?

I've got an XD40SC I love it. A little bulky but doable for cc . But in a situation gone bad outside my home , its the pistol I own that I would want in my sweaty palm

Just made my first range report on my SA mil spec. I jacked up my posts though while I was trying to fix a double post of a pic.

I told my wife I'm sure my handgun needs are satisfied for life. I did make sure to point out that a man still has wants though.

It feels that way. I'm already planning my next 1911, gonna be a custom build. I'm also now considering a bond derringer like my step dad got. That little thing is sweet.

the Mil-Spec is a good no frills 1911 based on the ones from WWI and WWII and the most basic 1911 45 there is. very good 1911 to start with for a first timer. i started with a very similar model from Springfield about 20 years ago, for my first 1911 styled pistol. shot several thousands of rounds through it and loved every minute of it. good luck Halfwatt.

I love the feel of it, it fits great in my hands and I have smaller hands so the grips adjustment was a nice addition for me, I also like the look and design it's just badass, oh how can u not like the high capacity mag for it.
