About a month ago I purchased my first 1911, a Springfield A1 Loaded. It came with two seven round magazines. I would like to purchase a couple more. Suggestions on your favorites would be helpful.

Factory mags are generally just 1 step above junk - even with Springers & Kimbers. It's hard to go wrong with Wilson 47d's or Tripp Cobra Mags.

Avoid off brand mags like ACT, Novak, and "gunshow specials" like the plague. While Mec-Gar makes great mags for Sigs and other double stacks, their 1911 mags aren't very good.

For reasonably priced range mags, I use Chip McCormick Shooting Stars & Power Mags...

I agree with NGIB, you can never go wrong with Wilson Combat mags. I run the Wilson-Rodgers mags (stainless steel) from Brownells $31.99 or 27.89 if your military...

Chip McCormick and Wilsons for me. I've never tried the Tripp magazines, but some folks swear by them.

I've never tried the Wilsons, or Tripp.
I have two Springers and they both work flawlessly with Chip McCormick Power Mags.

About a year ago I ran across four 7 rd Springfield mags that were marked SANM. Price was right so I bought them. I'm a Colt guy so I just put them on my desk and didn't pay them too much attention. A while later I noticed that my son had picked them up. He asked where I'd found them and I told him the story. He leans toward Kimbers in his 1911's and he says that these NM mags are the best he's found for that gun.
They're no longer produced, but I see them from time to time on the auction boards.
    Just a FWIW.
