Sound Suppressor

    I tried to post this in the gunsmithing section, but it said I don't have permission..

    Just curious...
    Can a sound suppressor be made for a shotgun by drilling holes in the last 10 inches of the barrel and making a 3" tube over the holes and secured on both ends? Same princaple as rifles and pistols. I know it isn't a safe setup, but will it work? I don't have any intention of doing this, just wondering.

    That sounds VERY dangerous. Please don't consider doing this. There will be pellets EVERYWHERE!

    2. It is good for 10 yrs/ 250,000 to try it (if it diminishes sound AT ALL)

    Best sound suppressor I know of are ear pluggs...after that not much I can add to this thread except DON"T try it as described.

    Shi shame on you

    BATF's position is that IF you do anything that measureably reduces the sound of your firearm when discharges.....it is a suppressor and you must register it and pay a one time $ 200 transfer tax.......or go to jail !

    Yea....almost. you forgot about the ffl manufacturers license required for the build.
