What exactly is a "Sporter Stock" and how does it differ from a regular stock.

    Thanks

When speaking of a shotgun, top of the stock is straighter, like an AR, and has a pistol grip as part of the buttstock. Not a dumb question.

"Do these pants make me look fat?"- now THAT is a dumb question- if you answer it.

    Not a dum question

Now that just depinds on what type gun, or manufacture
In most cases it means it is lighter, cut down in scale, and is more like to be a play on the customers mind.

These days a Sporter stock usually refers to a gun used for Sporting Clays, and the only real difference between that and a regular field stock on a gun is a slightly longer length of pull because the game is shot with the gun pre-mounted.
