The scumbag with the porn is worse. I'm glad to hear that the two burgulars would rather risk going to jail than let that perverted scum stay free.

"Stupid people piss me off" pretty much covers this.

the guys who did the B&E are for sure the lesser of 2 evils, but they should still be prosecuted.

Yeah, I'm glad they did the right thing by going to the police but they still broke the law and should be punished.

the 2 kids that broke in and the pervert are both scumbags. there is no in between in my eyes. they were both committing crimes. you either are breaking the law, or you arent. one crime deserves a harsher punishment than the other, yes, but they are still crimes. i'm just glad the perv got caught, that sh!t is a unacceptable. he needs to be put down.

The perv deserves a much harsher punishment. Read the last line. The two burglars are not in the clear. The prosecutor has to decide what to do.
I hope it's a suspended sentence, and if they do anything else stupid in say the next five years, they get the sentence, because, although they did break the law, they also did the right thing, rather than simply destroying the evidence.

I really, really hope that is a joke. Mutilating people for burglary when it sounds like a first offense?

I'll second that, suspended sentence, maybe a little community service.

Ok, so what are you thinking? Non-dominant hand?:p

Part joke, part truth. Lets face it, that would have gotten them shot in a lot of homes owned by members of this forum (given the right(or wrong) circumstances). Loosing a finger seems a minor punishment in comparison.;)

In addition, if you cut off their finger, I bet they wont do it again!:D

Someone enters my house? They have to pass three things before they even see me. Door and window locks. I'm an appraiser. I damn sure know the value of a good dead bolt.
Next up, the alarm system itself. Code is randomly generated numbers that my family and I know.
While the thief is dealing with that, he also has a sheltie barking his fool head off and squared off.
Now...about the time the third bark goes off, he's going to hear a very distinctive sound.
At that point, he has three options.
    1. Turn and run. I'm not pursuing. I'm securing the house and calling the cops.
    2. Obey my commands and assume a spread eagled position on the floor, arms out, palms up. He will remain in that position while I search him while one of my sons holds his gun on him.
He'll wait there until the authorities arrive.
    3. Get stupid. This is the option that I don't want him to take, but if he does, then I'll do what has to be done.
I have no desire to use a firearm on anyone. It's not a fun thing to do, and the only thing worse than pointing a gun at someone is having someone point one at you.
I just can't wrap my head around the idea of mutilating someone for most reasons. (Pedo's? Okay. You got me there. Them and rapists I have no pity or mercy for, but it's the 'get rid of them immediately mindset.)

Its really not that hard if you just try. See, your already coming around :D;).

Anyways, I guess its a personal opinion thing. Thieves are (IMO) one of the worst after murderers and rapists. All three take something by invading into personal space where they have no right to be. Its the thieves that make us go out and buy alarm systems, yappy little rats the wives call "dogs," and guns! If it weren't for thieves, rapists and murderers, i wouldn't need no stinking guns!

Child Porn? yea thats pretty raunchy, but I wouldn't partake in this whole foot fetish thing either. Never heard of a "Child porn yank session gone wrong" either. That is to say, I perceive him as a low level threat to me personally. Not trying to justify, just throwing things out there to see what sticks.

I can think of something worse...

Incoming tracers, the solution to that though is outgoing tracers,
preferably in a larger caliber. As a friend of mine once said,
"Happiness is a belt fed weapon."

I've seen a man shot at a street bazaar for stealing a bag of dates. He didn't do it again. No one cried, no one was even surprised. In fact it was 2 of the stall owners who loaded the dead guy in the back of the Iraqi police truck.

There are still places in the world where thieves get a hand cut off if they get caught. I have to agree with "mutilation" as someone else put it. Cut off a pinky, and when their fingers get light again, they'll remember the reason they're light on fingers.

serves that guy right. you wanna take the chance of stealing, you need to be prepared to suffer consequences.

our penalties are too light here. i agree with chopping off hands for stealing. people say "oh, that's not humane to do that..." ok, you dont want to lose a body part, DONT BREAK THE F-ing LAW!!! simple as that.
