What is the best thing to soak little parts to a gun in? I have used some stuff but nothing really works really good. What do you all use?

Well, I like a mix of soy sauce and Italian dressing- but only for marinade.

For cleaning, plain old Hoppes' #9. If you are trying to deal with accumulated carbon and crud, low odor mineral spirits can also be used.

One of the best products I have ever used is KROIL. Made by Kano labs, it is (IMHO) the best penetrating oil made. Will get under carbon, lead or copper, and loosen it from base metal.

I use FP10 for normal cleaning. I've heated kerosene and soaked parts, it works great.

I agree with c3shooter. I have soaked some really nasty stuff in hoppes and i come back to the bowl after letting it soak all night and all the gunk is floating in the solution. Man, I love that stuff.

i use several different products depending on the task or what i'm doing. i use low odor mineral spirits if i want to soak something overnight or for a few hours while i work on other things. i use Kano Kroil as well. C3 is absolutely correct about this product. one of the best products i have ever used. i use it as a bore cleaner and that's why i bought it to begin with. i use it as a penetrating oil an a general purpose firearm cleaner. the Kano Kroil is amazing.
