I've seen girls that looked "awesome", but their personalities turned me off.

Look at all aspects (warranty, customer service, etc...) before buying.

Not sure if it's one of the new ones you're talking about but I just bought a new Tactical Entry. It's my 3rd Kimber and all have been completely reliable and incredibly accurate.

That's because people would rather keep their Colts and get them repaired. Kimbers just get resold. ;)

colt doesnt even make colt anymore. high standard makes them. if you really want a legit colt, you'll have to find one made in 1981 or before. ill take my shot with Kimber 1911s made by Kimber in Yonkers or a Sig 1911 made by Sig Sauer any day of the week. and no matter what, they both will back their product. regardless if Kimber only has a 1 year warranty. if you're all about warranty, whos to say you shouldnt get a Taurus? if you know better you wont just off of principle, because you know they have a shawdy product, and you WILL be forced to use your precious warranty.

How's that DW doing? How did it handle?
Sweet as I expected it to,I'm still getting used to a trigger pull that short and crisp. I'm so used to shooting my PPQ,ruger sp101,FNP and the like that Its taking me a bit to get used to a tuned trigger like that But it Shoots great, I'm a little sporadic during range sessions at first until I get a few mags down range and am used to it.

The checkering on the frontstrap and MSH is suburb, like Velcro to the hands but not to abrasive. Heinie striaght 8's take some getting used to but they are really growing on me.

FitnFinish is great, just as I heard it would be

Can't find one thing I don't like about it at the moment, except that shooting it in this mess is just as big of a pain and as much of a wallet killer as it was buying it,due to the ammo situation at the moment.

naaa...they all have their plus and minus points...just like car brands...I've shot a bunch of 1911's and each person goes with what they like but that doesn't make it wash for everyone else though. Find the boomer you can hit the bullseye with best and make work for you. I like the Kimbers for the reliability I've got with them and the close holes these old hands seem to put on the paper. If my hands start shaking any more than they are now, I'm bumping up to a Barrett .50 BMG...I'll get that bullseye one way or another. :D

Be interested to know where you pulled that information from. Hate to say it, but you're dead wrong!

Colt is indeed making their own 1911s. This has been observed and verified by countless people touring their production facility. The last Shotgun News even had an article on this. Might want to check your source before you continue to spread misinformation.

Your second mistake is in saying High Standard makes them. I'm actually a bit of a High Standard buff (the real High Standard, not the current company). The current High Standard company doesn't even manufactured their own 1911s, much less make guns for Colt. High Standard 1911s are manufactured in the Philippines.

I can see you're a fairly new member and may not be familiar with a lot of the members here, but almost all of us that have been here for some time don't comment on threads unless we have a good bit of knowledge on the subject. We have a good community here and are seeing a lot of new members joining. We want to be providing accurate information, not spreading misinformation.

So I'm guessing we were due for "Kimber R da awesomest" thread? It has been a while.

I can handle those. I poke fun, but everyone is entitled to their opinions.

But making comments that are completely ignorant and incorrect warrants addressing.

There's a reason I'm not allowed into the GLOCK forum...

I'd hate to go the same way on the 1911 forum.

BTW Olympus, thanks for beating me to it.
