this is my first range report since joining the board, feel free to let me know if i'm leaving anything out.
I purchased 100 rounds of 180 gr .40 S&W FMJ. my target was cardboard, i'm guessing about 36" tall by maybe 30" wide; on the cardboard is a standard "bad guy" silhouette with a 9" scoring ring in the torso area. I had the target at about 25 feet. I tried it with the 12 rnd mag first. all 12 shots were on paper, 8 within the scoring rings. it was the most natural feeling gun i've yet to shoot, even compared to my other XD (.45 ACP service model). I was concerned about the grip with the 9 rnd mag. it didn't last long as i was able to put 7 out of 9 into the rings. the rest of the shoot went just as well.
I didn't take any pics; right now i only have access to an indoor range and i'm paranoid about the possiblity of GSR in my electronics. i'll just bring the target home next time. i'll have pics of the gun itself soon. as always, I recommened the XD to anyone and everyone who wants a high quality firearm (and dont forget the "free" XD gear!) at a relatively reasonable price.
