What was the first model you ever assembled?

I had the complete collection of Aurora Movie Monsters, the Phantom of the Opera was the coolest, had a little screaming guy behind a sewer grate.

Jeeze, were talking late 1960's here for me. I think the first model I built was a Monogram 1/48th scale Me-110. I know that after that I built a few Revell 1/32 scale Me-109's of varoius models like the E's, F's, and G varients. I built quite alot of other model airplanes during this time but the Messerschmits were my favorites. I still have a couple of these model Me-109's stored away somewhere.

    I think it was a Revell/Monogram 1939 Chevy.

I was about 8 and had to do a science project. My Dad bought a model Baltimore Oriole that I had to glue together, then paint. Hmmm. I wonder what ever happened to it? Probably ended up as a target when my Dad bought me a bb gun a few years later.

Did anybody have one of these? HUGE when I was a kid. You could paint all the organs different colors. And they're still selling them.

I know....the woman had hooters. We got a real kick out of that.

And there was a huge heart, too.

I remember it was The General Lee from Dukes of Hazard, my dad and i got it from a auction we went to i was prolly 7 or 8 year's old. I remember sitting there with my father and going over the directions first, then my dad pulled out his pocket knife and handed it to me i still got that knife he gave that to me when we was done. He would tell me the piece that we would need i cut it out and then we would glue it on. Building that model with my dad and others over the years was some of the greatest times we shared. Painting, gluing, and talking. Ill never forget those times thanks dad.
