snap into place safes

I was thinking about how old nintendo cartridges go into place and are there any kind of gun locking devices that is a square cartridge of steel you could insert your gun straight down into and the barrel/trigger is encased in it with the back portion of the gun upwards, then the lock could be built into this
it would be harder to steal a gun encased in steel ;P
