Hi i live on a farm and was wondering what the best "snake gun" is that is small enough to not get in the way of things but still has enough power to kill a six foot rattle snake. A remington 870 12 ga works pretty good but its a little to big to carry around. Any suggestions would be great.

    Thanks.

Some people like the Taurus Judge for snake killing. I just pick them up by the tail and slap their head against a tree.

Got an old revolver? There are shot shells available in many different pistol calibers. I think the effective range is pretty limited though.

It's probably best not to confuse those two. ;)

For most of my serpentine problems, I use a hoe or spade.

That way I can dig a hole quickly before the Mrs finds out what I got.

Thanks. Yea that would be a good idea, but thats kinda hard to carry on a four wheeler while checking trail cameras and filling feeders up. Haha

a 9mm works well to if you can hold steady, but the judge is also a very sweet gun. Last time I killed a snake I got chewed out for skinning it on the kitchen table.

If you want to buy a gun I'd second the Judge
But if you already own a centerfire revolver of any size i'd second the shotshell ideal
