so this is my first post, and I just wanted to introduce my self to the forums and show off a little bit of my work. this is a Smith and Wesson Airweight that one of my buddies had for a while and it started to corrode due to sweat, and very little maintenance. So he asked me to fix it up for his wife.

Welcome aboard. The gun certainly looks better now.

Not trying to criticize your work, but I think I can still see some of the corrosion below the cylinder release? I wonder if its just the lighting?

Welcome to the forum. Nice paint job!

JW357 could be correct in that there could be some corrosion left (the side plate, also).

Did you treat the corrosion prior to painting? How bad was the pitting?

Was the exterior a "plating" or did the metal itself corrode like that?

If there is a "plating", did you remove it before painting?

yea you can still tell a little bit were the corrosion was. sandblasted prior to coating, I suggested to my buddy that I can fill it with a little tig or epoxy but he didn't want to invest much into it so that is the end result.

Corrosion has a way of coming back with a vengeance.
