I am a fan of the .45 Colt, and when this Model 45-5 came wandering through the classifieds, I couldnt hardly contain myself. Apparently the .45 scared people off because the owner kept relisting it until he had it down to half of his original price, and at what it was actually worth. I met him at the Dairy Queen and bought him an icecream and this pistol

I have targeted it out to 80 yards so far, and it is still pretty well on at that range.....I am impressed with it, it is a large handful to say the least.

Nice pair, Bob.

I'm not in Tennessee,,,I'm from where Quantrill and Anderson are considered folk hero's. I'm 20 miles from the center of the nation, halfway between Paradise and The Garden of Eden. Really.

Hoss is gonna be tryin to trade you out of that....

That picture of mine didnt come out like I planned, I had just cleaned and wiped it down with oil, and it looks all dirty. I need to check my lighting....the oil smudges on the case do not show up when you look at them,,,must be like flash bulbs making clothes appear transparent......hm

We're in bad shape here. Extreme fire danger. 94 days with no precip, and 30 days so far over 100 degrees. We have been up to 112 lately, and the record of 118 was set 40 miles west of here the other day.

That was us last summer- 90% of the boat ramps were closed - burn bans all summer - So far we're about normal this year---

For a couple of years I had a matched pair of 25-5's with 6 1/2 inch barrels, blue finish. They came in a hardwood box, it was a S&W 125-year anniversary edition. They were stolen when I was burglarized. I reported the theft and the serial numbers to the police, but that was about 2 decades ago, and have heard nothing about them since.
I'd sure like to get a 25-5 with 5 inch barrel, but they must be pretty rare.

The last time my house was broken into and guns stolen, it was a cop that did it, I pressed the issue, and all they did was get him to resign and move to Oklahoma. My guns were never recovered either.

Not surprised. I 'spect the guns were recovered long ago but the cop who recovered them has them now.

I neglected to mention, that the 25-5 designation is for the .45 Colt cartridge. The Model 25 is available in other calibers.

Yep. There are only 2 revolver calibers -
1. .45 Colt
2. Everything else
