    Well.....

My .40 Hi-Point is no longer with me, but I'm not depressed one bit.

    In it's place I now have a Star Model B 9x19mm (basically a 1911 clone).

I'm in the process of cleaning it completely up to my standards. Once that is done, I plan on taking it out to the range, and a range report will follow.

That's a good change sarge. I've had the Star BKM 9mm for about twenty eight years and it's a great gun. I still use it as my CCW when I can CC.

What happened to the hi-point? Why did you decide to get rid of it?

Looking forward to the report.

Congrats. I believe the Star is a better quality pistol. It certainly looks better. ;)

There was nothing wrong with the Hi-Point. I just saw this handgun and really wanted it. I didn't want to put down just the cash for it, so I did a trade off.

You certainly traded up, Sarge! They've got a couple of Stars for rent at my club (former Guardia Civil issue) and they are quite nice.

That was definitely a good trade up Sarge, you did the right thing. With a couple of mild additions, I bet that piece turns into your "Go To' model in nothing flat.

Good, solid, reliable shooter that should treat you right.

    Excellent step forward. :D

    Good trade Sarge

one question: is single stack or double stack?
The double stack magazines for those are imposible to find... otherwise is a great gun.
My father had one of those (single stack).... was beautiful two tone (shining blued slide and polished nickel frame) with the trigger, hammer, levers, screws and buttons gold plated... incredible beautiful.... go find a good armorer and refinish it, you will fall in love with it! ....with a new set of wood grips will be look terrific....
    It's reliable and durable.
    Congrats on your upgrade!

I have a firestar in 40 S&W in the safe, it shoots alright but as I recall it is a bit heavy, I traded a set of craiger wheels for it and a Llama MiniMax 45 APC. I'm going to dig these out as it's been awhile since I shot them. Sounds like you made a good choice
