I am looking for advise. I am going to buy a new slug gun, and have come down to the browning silver and benelli m2. Does anyone have any advise on which is better.

I have a Benelli M4. I love it. I considered an M2, but it is inertia only, and will kick harder than a gas operated. The M4 is both-inertia and gas. The other thing I realized about the benelli's is you have to hold on to them tight(ie. stock to the shoulder),if not, it won't cycle properly. I realize this when I'm trying to rattle off a magazine full of shells- you know, 5-6 rounds a second.

I'm not familiar with the Browning. I guess it depends on what your using it for. I don't like to hunt with pretty guns. I'm always concerned about scratching and gouging them up. The Benelli I have is a combat type weapon. I also have a Remington 11-87 that I hunt with, along with a double barrell Stevens. I would love to have a lightweight Benelli 20 gauge for bird hunting. Fast follow up shots and low recoil.

I sold my buddys son a Mossberg 500 for $10 I had won at a banquet. His dad bought him a slug barrel and last season he shot a whitetail at 265 yrds. Imagine that. Those 20s are deadly for whitetails.

I shoot rock on a regular basis with an M2, one handed occasionally(just for fun) and I have never had an ftc. The only time I've seen an M2 or SBEII not cycle properly is if they are dripping with oil, or they are using shells less than 3 dram before the gun is broken in.

no joke? so my 12 gauge with slugs will be able to take down a deer if i aim properly? this will save me a lot of money if i dont have to buy a rifle for deer. (this season is my first season ever im going deer hunting, and we all )know guns aint cheap.)
