Ok I picked up a SKS Yugo with AK Ramp sights and a fiberforce stock I took it to the range today and every shot hit in a different place 2 feet high or 3 feet low or way left or way right it also appearers that the bullets are tumbling by the way they are printing. does anyone have any idea?

Since it no longer has the original stock, after checking the crown/bore I would check for stress points along the barrel where it contacts the stock. SKS barrels are notoriously thin and heat up almost immediately causing barrel tension to become an issue if the stock is not inletted properly...if it's not the stock/barrel fit, the barrel could be shot out. I have a Rossi .243 single shot that had the same problems as you mentioned. After extensive cleaning to remove copper fouling over a 7 day period I focussed on the stock/barrel fit - after relieveing all stock material from contacting the barrel and still having the same problem, I concluded that the barrel is worn. It was a $200 gun brand new with a 20ga. interchangeable barrel. Now I have a $200 single shot 20ga. shotgun! The moral of the story - don't buy cheap guns!

The bore is the "hole" in your barrel. The barrel crown is the point of the bore where the rifling terminates at the muzzle. Most manufacturers crown their barrels. This is to protect the rifling. Some have recessed crowns which prevent damage by "recessing" the point at which the rifling ends in order to better protect the rifling by preventing it from being dinged up or damaged, which could cause a bullet to divert from it's path. I cannot say whether or not barrel tension would cause a bullet to tumble. If it is severe enough to affect accuracy the way you described, I would think it possible. A good way to check is to use a spotting compound or even chalk. Coat the inside of the channel with the chalk and put the barreled action back in the stock - wherever you have a transfer of chalk to the barrel is where you have excessive bearing on the barrel. You should be able to fit a piece of paper all along the barrel from the receiver to the muzzle without excessive contact. More importantly, any contact must be uniform for the entire length, otherwise you will have excessive pressure on one section of the barrel when it heats up.

I have thought about your SKS problem and after agreement wirth the other folks onthe crown and looking for some bad parts and area's, I'd say take it to the range and get it rested and try it slowly! Bench rest it and site it in at a tgt close like 25 yards, see how it hits? Then Move out to 50 and than 100 yards, se if it's you, or the SKS? A good place to start, plus I like others to try it as well? That eliminates the YOU Factor? Then you can look for all the fun gun part problems? Just a thought?
