While looking wistfully at my Walmart's empty ammo shelves for the 4th week in a row, I noticed they had an impressive display (pictures, actually) of at least 2 dozen serious-looking "hunting" knives that appear to be available (I didn't ask anyone about it). N E 1 else notice this, right next to the soon-to-be-extinct shotgun cabinet?? I am a complete newbie - so which one of these babies should I score on my next empty trip to Walmart as a consolation for leaving without ammo once again?

If it's the same in all Wal Marts, get the Kershaw. Probably the best they have to offer.

They don't have them at my local store. But you're right, the Native is a great knife.

Great! which kershaw? They have 2 listed online - a wild-looking "Leek Rainbow" and a "Tanto Blur".

Also, the Native indeed looks good. I'll probably go for that one.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

Crap, walmart shows this as out of stock online, and not as a store item, so I am SOL. Why is walmart retreating from serving us 2nd amendment types? Dang, next thing you know they'll be selling porn....

How about a Spyderco Delica? Looks like the same thing as native except with serrated edge, and Walmart has it in stock....

OK, Wal-Mart no longer carries the Spyderco Native. Would someone please suggest an alternative to this one? Wal-Mart seems to have a bunch of different Kershaws. Perhaps a specific model of those?
