Just ordered a scope for my silver/stainless 10/22. Its a silver Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40, I already have a set of Millet rings but I can not find a silver base mount, the picatinny type. The one on the gun now is black and just isnt stylish enough Hope to get a hogue overmold stock in Ghillie Tan in the next few weeks (has a mannlicher stock atm and I cant stand it).

well I think if your stock is black it would look nice with a silver scope and barrel and black rings and stock, I don't know I guess I would have to see!

It has a wood stock atm, I have found many many black picatinny 1 piece base but no silver ones, I have found a few nice 1 piece base/ molded rings that look nice but I dont want to spend 50$ when I already have the silver rings.

Take a regular weaver base in black Take some brake cleaner after that black paint and it will come off. Clean up and use a green scotchbrite pad and some light oil or kroil oil to get that brushed look. I wet sanded mine to a bright shine.

Leupold rifleman is close to what I want, 7$. But the 40+$ picatinny ones is what I wanted just not the price that comes with it.

Ooohh well . Guess you have to pay up for what you want. Or settle for the basic. I have seen 7 silver ones of diiffent finish in a 1 minute search. Look like EWG has the best but as you know not cheap.

I took Hardluk`s advice sorta, I sanded the outside edges with 150,320, and finished off with 600 grit. Polished it with Flitz and a Dremel, leaving the center section and the grooves black. Left the black Millet rings on and mounted a silver 36x Leupold I had to check the look out and its dead sexy!! The scope I ordered should be here tomorrow but its gonna be a few weeks before I get the new stock. I already shot a couple 3/4" or less groups at 50 yards with a older then dirt Bushnell 4x off an old sluggun and bulk ammo so Im really looking forward to trying some match ammo and the stronger scope. My old man has a target version 10/22 that shoots 3/8" at 50yds so im gonna have to take his old *** to school!!
