Hmm. Nice looking. Looks alot like a CDP II to me. The price doesnt look like a CDP though. All reports I have heard of Sig 1911's have been good though.

I had the SIG 2 tone 3.3" and traded it off. I Say that only in conversation. The SIG ultra was a pleasure to carry and own. The entire line of SIG 1911s are fantastic. Please post some pics of the targets and let us know with a full report post haste!

Well, I agree on the "trying to get it right" on "snub nosed" 1911's ;)
Look forward to hearing a range report :)

Sig may have gotten it right, but Springfield Armory did too. my SA Loaded Micro Compact 45 shoots great, it's accurate and lightweight. not cheap by any means at a MSRP of $1370, i ended up paying $1200 for mine + tax. one edge my SA seems to have over the Sig, is the extra work they put into rounding all the sharp edges off for a better carry pistol. truth othe matter is that for some reason that escapes me, a good 1911 compact is priced higher than it's FS brothers. i can buy a FS 1911 Loaded model at the same dealer for about $900.

Hossfly, the SA EMP, "Enhanced Micro Pistol" is pretty much the same as the Loaded Micro Compact 45, the biggest difference i can tell is that the EMP only comes in 9mm and 40 S&W calibers and the LMC only comes in 45acp. i have over 1500 rounds through mine with not one single problem. have shot factory FMJ, factory JHP, and my own JHP handloads. nada, not one issue so far. it's accuracy suprised me for as short a barrel it has at 3" long. recoil is different than a full size 1911, but nothing bad, just different. even my wife loves to shoot it and even prefers it over my full size 1911 or even the Commander. lightweight and a pleasure to carry. i am amazed at how well it fits my hand, like it was made just for me! yes it's a great little pistol that i still just enjoy owning and shooting.

i have no regrets in buying this pistol and can say i would gladly do it over again. to me, it's as close to a custom pistol, without being a custom pistol! i am even going to send Longballer71 (Dave) a set of grips for it so he can use them for a pattern for the Officer sized 1911's. i lokked at the EMP in 9mm at about the same time i got this one, and have to say, it's just about as nice. here's a picture of my LMC 45 for you to enjoy.

Hossfly, they have an EMP that's two tone just like mine is. and Dave is doing some great work with the grips and the holsters. Shawn (MrWray) is using one of Dave's holsters and did a review of it. the holster looks great.

Yeah, I AGAIN gave Dave a project he's never done on a holster just like my request on grips so he insisted on giving it a try :D

    1st 150 Rounds...Superb!

The Arizona summer monsoon season finally arrived, so the Forest Service lifted shooting restrictions on public lands this past week. That meant I finally got a chance to put this Sig Ultra through the paces. I brought 3 50-round boxes of ammo from 3 different manufacturers to see if that would make any difference. The Ultra ate everything up without a hitch...uh...except for one ejected casing that struck me square in the forehead (always a good attention-getter). More than the reliability, which I expected from a Sig pistol, the accuracy from a 3-inch barrel at 30 feet was really astounding. The factory night sights don't show up extremely well in bright sunlight (for me), but the sight picture is certainly good enough for quick target acquisition, even for my 50+ year-old eyes. I fired slow & deliberate, and also fired rapid bursts of 2 & 3 shots. This pistol hit my 8-inch target nearly every time. Those that didn't were easily within the kill zone on the background silhouette. I give the Sig Ultra a superb rating for its first time out. We'll keep at it to see how fast that recoil spring wears down, as some claim is common with the subcompact 1911's. I'm betting it doesn't wear down anytime soon...;)
