The idea of a micro 9mm Sig had me excited initially. But from what I've seen it's not quite as micro as advertised. It seems like a smaller P250, and I'm not a huge fan of that model.
I'd chose a Kahr PM9 over this Sig every time. Or a Kahr CM9, Kel-Tec PF9, or Ruger LC9 for a lot less money. Or even one of the short & fat Glock/XD subcompacts.
Maybe that's just my personal preference. When I buy a Sig for carry, it'll be a P239sas...a lot more gun for just a few bucks more than the P290.
well I held the P290 today at a gun shop and it really felt great in my pocket. I had to go see for myself because everyone says this pistol is too fat and weighs alot. To me thats all crap. I have the p238 and want to get me a Micro 9mm around the same size as the 238 more or less. The Kahr pm9 feels cheap and not made with quality, the kel-tec i dont like, the ruger is OK but too big. There is nothing out there that felt like the 290 and functioned smooth as far as the slide and craftsmanship.
Take a look at the kimber solo. I love mine. I havent had any failures and its real accurate. I was surprised on the lack of recoil and how well it shoots. Its one amazing little pistol and a great conceal carry. Good luck, Ed
When did you get your solo because everyone has issues with it also I don't like to be restricted on what ammo I can use
I have had it for several weeks now and been to the range 4 times with it so far. Going again tomorrow. I have put 200 rounds thru it without a failure. Maybe I got lucky. I did stick to the directions and use between 124gr and 147gr bullets. I have put different name brands thru without a hiccup. If you get a chance to shoot one you will love it. I am a little biased though. Ed
I LOVE my Sig, I'd feel it up, french kiss it and offer to buy it a drink. I haven't shot this one yet, I'll have to see if the range here rents one and then get back to you. I've been considering a p238 which I've shot and like a lot.
The 238 is a blast to shoot and very accurate. I love the reliability of the 238 ant that's why I carry it as a EDC gun. Hornady critical defense loaded and one in the chamber cocked and locked 24/7
