Several months ago I bought a Sig P229 Platinum Elite in 9mm

I really love this gun - the way it handles the beaver tail ... all the things that make up an "Elite"

But I do not like the stiffness of the DA trigger pull.

So I'm thinking of getting some trigger work done on it.

Has any one had a trigger job on their Sig?

    How did it turn out?

    Who did you use?

Would your refer them to me to use?

    What did it cost?

Thanks in advance for your input.

I sent my P229 .40 to the Sigarms Sigtech gunsmiths, right on the Sig website. They worked over the trigger, added adjustable combat sights, and honed the slide. It went from a marginal shooting pistol, to my go to gun for personal defense, due to the increased accuracy. When it was new I just could not get a decent grouping, not that I am a marksman by any means. But when it came back it was like a whole different pistol. It was easier to shoot, and I could shoot it far more accurately. It was worth every penny. If I remember right it was about $270 for all the work with shipping.

I had only put about 300 rounds through it before I sent it in. It may not have been broken in by that point...

270.00 for trigger work, combat sights and slide honing??

Good Lord, Sig is high maintenance.

About 500 rounds downrange and some dry firing has smoothed out every Sig I own. Sig tends to "overspring" their guns which makes for the tough DA trigger pull. Sig sights are also very easy to change out - nothing like XDs...

Well I selected a gunsmith for my trigger work.

    I chose:

    Robert Burke - 972-342-2717
    1701 Hartford Drive
    Carrollton, Texas 75007

    Robert Burke

He did a very good job.

I've now shot it in competition and it was great.

Too bad because now I gotta find some other excuse for my accuracy

He did such a good job that I've now sent my P226, P229, P250 for him to tune up.

H really made a world of difference in my P250 trigger.

Give him a call or email if you need work done.
