Hey looking to get my first 1911 and I have always wanted a Kimber (preferably the Desert Warrior). I have recently come across the Sig line of 1911s and have found that the Sig TacPac has everything the Kimber has to offer for about $400 less. I own a 229 and love but are there 1911s just as good?

My father in law has one of their commander size and I shot it over Memorial weekend. One of the sweetest shooting out of the box commanders I've seen. I shot it better than most of my own 1911s that I've been shooting for years. If you're not a traditionalist and can get around the different slide design and external extractor, they're an excellent value. You get a lot of gun for a reasonable price. The slide design can be difficult to find holsters for I hear though. Don't know for sure though, just what I've heard.
