Thats great shooting. Move it out to 300 now and see whatcha got. If it stays yhe same I would think you have winning load there

I have always liked Sierra bullets. I rarely ever have a rifle that doesn't like to shoot them.

Well done. You are saving targets - bad sign. You're probably hooked. :)

BTW, I have found over the years that a rifle that will not shoot Game Kings just won't shoot. I have also shot animals with them with very satisfying results. In fact, I believe that if I did not read so many hunting/shooting/reloading writers, I would be using them more and expensive bullets less.

I use them alot in my reloads. They shoot great in my Savage 111, 30-06.

I load Sierra bullets in every rifle I own. They are a very accurate bullet in general and 3 of my 5 rifles shoot their best groups with Sierra Game King or Pro Hunter bullets, the other two just like poly tips.
If you think those Sierras perform good on paper just wait until you take your first deer with them :) Game Kings and Ballistic Tips are my "go to" deer bullets.
Only word of caution, those 165gr SGKs in my Savage 30-06 create horrific damage at full stroke (2900fps) at close range. Last deer of last season had a 9.5" exit wound!!!

Thats alot of wasted meat gone in a 9 inch exit hole. Might have to make up a load for 150 grain because the deer out here always stop and turn around to look at you when you scare one up.

The 165 SGKs probably won't be as bad at mild-medium 308 speeds, back them down to 2600-2700fps and they don't fragment as much. My preference for deer hunting is not a 30 caliber at all, I think my 6.5x55 is perfect with 120-140gr, my brother is the 30 cal fanatic so I load the 06 for him.

I use 165gn GameKings in my 30/06AI and .270 and they're absolute dynamite on pigs, goats, feral horses and donkeys.

They're getting along around 2900 fps in the 30/06AI and they virtually grenade inside pigs and goats when they hit out to 150yds and after that they hold together and punch through

Their MatchKings are pretty good too.

Just another good reason to shoot them in the head or neck

I like both the Sierra Game Kings and their soft point boat tail bullets. I don't reload but I get the local reloading guru to load some ammo for me. Everything he loads is spot on.

When primers aren't such a pain I am going to get him to reload some 357 mag pistol ammo for me. He has 8 lb of blue dot.

I have always had great success with Sierra bullets. The 140 gr. pro-hunter bullet out of my 7mm-08 does a great job on deer! The 39 Gr. Blitzkings do horrific things to smaller critters out of my 204 ruger, especially at 3900 fps lol!!!
