I'd look into a retention holster. No offense, but that weapon is begging to be grabbed.

i have and they dont make one that fits the p238. I can have one custom made which costs 150$ or so. Im actually gonna have my fiancee make one out of leather and put a strap on it for my gun.

Personally I wouldn't open carry without a retention holster. How stupid would it be to have your gun snatched and ran off with, or worse used against you? If I open carry, which is very seldom,, out in the woods or at the range,,, then I still carry at 1oclock with a retention holster.. better to conceal, in my opinion.

I can understand that. Everything gun related is overpriced. I wish I had the money to just buy everything I need at once. Just like many here I started with a nylon uncle mikes. Worked fine just no retention. I would just appendix carry to insure if someone went for my pistol they would have to get it right in front of me. Hell to tell the truth I got so used to it I still appendix carry while concealing.more times than not with no holster at all,, just a good belt..
No worries, Just get what you need when you can,, until then use caution and common sense.

I try to i avoid specific places that have very tight spaces to avoid any risks. When i open carry most of the time im walking down to a gas station or to some kind of store at night or im just walking for no real reason. Im constantly scanning the area and paying attention to my surroundings i try to pay very close attention to my surrounds and have a good situational awareness. Ill get a rention holster once i can and by then ill be ccing. I have a couple methods with the holster i have for that as well. the 3 o clock and 2 0 clock positions and the 4 o clock IWB position. and of course theres the 3 0 clock OWB position with a coat covering the gun. Im experimenting with them to see which is the most comfortable and easiest to conceal

My newest addition to my open carry club is a Bersa Thunder Ultra Compact Pro. I come across this holster by accedent nad it's been in a box for a while because it didn't fit anything I had real well. It fits the Bersa just fine though. Istill like my 1911's more for most carry days but it's cool to be able to switch things up now and then. :)

Bookmarked the site. I will be looking them over in depth. I know a guy that makes holsters but it's really time consuming as he does them all by hand. He's working on a shoulder rig for my Super Redhawk now.;)

Thanks for the tip on the site. They look to do some very nice work:)

Cursory google search revealed: http://www.sig-sauer-holsters.com/sig-sauer-p238-holster.html at least the first 4 have retention. Didn't read much past that. If these guys offer it chances are other people do too. The minimum I'd recommend for open carry is a level 2 retention holster. And that's just if you are going to be in the woods by yourself. For self defense you really need a level III.

I know it's nylon, but it has served me well to date. :)

Only difference is now I only carry with the 17 round mag w/ mag cover from Beretta. Spare mag is carried in the holster as well. I figure that gives me 35 chances? ;)

I want to get a nice Kydex one someday, haven't found one that is quite perfect for the PX4 sub-compact and perfect for me yet...
