I've heard lots of good things about these guns but I've never shot one. They remind me of the Colt Woodsman.

once someone realizes what a great guns they are, its just a matter of time before they buy one.

He's been a collector for ages, doubt he got took.

FWIW I gave my dad my old HS Sharpshooter, so he could put his other MATCO bbl on it. Mitchell version wore one of them..........IHMSA rigs.

Supermatic with ext front sight at LGS...........never cared for bridged rear sight rigs though.

I grew up shooting HS, Colt and other decent rigs.
The Colt Woodsman for me is a hunting/trail rig, even a 6" Match Target.
The grip is so small. Definitely a great feel for my hand.
Feels better to me than a HS B.
But I like the larger HS frames (field type grips though).
Never did care for the Smith 41's grips. Do like the sights stationary...........so a Kart slided 1911 is a fave :)

i wont shoot citation ramp sights. all my shooters are the tournaments with rear sight on the slide.
i did a test and found that the theory of a stationary rear sight added no benefit to accuracy...just cut finger tips.

i sold all my karts decades ago. though they were super accurate, i lost too many matches due to jammed slides and having to refire. with its confidence in question, it thru off my concentration. went back to hi standards. scores went up.

sold all my colts because like you say..they are small in the grip.

slant grips tend to slip on me. i cant get a good grip. the military grip most mimmicks the 45, and since 45 is what the main event was all about for me, i stuck with the military grip guns.

41's? sold them all. got tired of the safety going on from the web of my hand during rf strings.

This is my Hi Standard, it is a model GB. May not be the purtiest, but the bullet goes where you point it.
