So, I have a xdm9 4.5 in olive drab. I am contemplating selling it to fund my purchase of a 1911 commander of some sort. Just want to know what you think I could get for it. I have no other 9's soooo its somewhat hard for me to decide whether to let it go or not.

    -In next to new condition
    -500 rounds fired
-all of the extras that come with the xdm's
    -5 mags total

    =?

Traded my colt trooper mk3 for a new SA mil-spec. I'm not a fan. Wish I had the colt back even though I'd never shoot it. Regrets. Keep your 9 and use your local shops lay-a-way plan. .45 is a little pricey to shoot, you'll end up buying another 9 if u sell it.

Keep the XD. The 1911 is a good piece. Everyone should have one in their collection. There's allot of history behind it.

Thanks everyone, I decided that I'm going to keep it and save up for another 1911.

Never sell any gun you have. I regret ALL the guns I sold over the years and I still will never learn.

I've bought and sold so many 9's looking for the right one for me, never found it. I bought a XD.45 and fell in love! If you like the XDM 9 keep it and save for something else, I recommend XD.45!

I wouldn't sell it. 9 mm is a good caliber to have when the SHTF.

I keep at least 1 service size firearm in every major LE caliber.

    Tack

All this talk of buying and selling inspired me to finally give up on .45 GAP and sell my G37 today and buy an XDm 45. I pick it up Thursday. I'll still never sell my G19!
Oh and for the kicker, one of my coworkers wants to sell me his SA stainless mil-spec 1911 and his 10/22 for 450 cus his wife doesn't want them in the house with his new kid on the way! Score!

    Used Mkt

Orig Thread - how much is it worth ? 3 - extra mags helps but a gunshop is only going to give you 50 cents on the dollar. Most gun club have bulletin boards where your ad can reach a better Tgt mkt.

Advertise in a newspaper and you reach a wide audience but also put a bullseye on your address. Big blk mkt item & crazy people now have your phone number.

Selling on-line reaches an even wider audience but also has its hazards.

If you sell your going to take a loss and handguns require paperwork PITA.

Unless you NEED the money or the gun is a lemon, I w keep it. (the new 5.25" is driving prices down on older models anyway)

Colt Commanders are sweet and often the standard by which ALL carry guns are judged. I prefer the Colt Combat Elite or Gold Cup. I have seen commanders w full size compensators installed so they are the same length as full size but perform much better. Yet, anything can be done to a 1911 - the only limitation is your checkbook.
