Im building a slug gun out of a mossberg 185. Just received the fully rifled barrel blank from hastings today. Im gunna contour and bore the chamber on my cnc at work but cant find anything as to how the throat should be machined its the only dimension i cant get off the smooth bore. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Seems to me you'd treat it like a rifle, with a case the length of the open shell, and some degree of free bore before the rifling, as well as throat taper.
What that free bore diameter and length, and throat should be I have no idea.
Curious to read more as you figure it out!
As for talking to reamer makers, I'm fond of Pacific Tool & Gauge tools. Good people.

The first slug he fired in his home-made slug gun ruptured the barrel and put his right eye out.

He is now an anti-gun liberal who campaigns that guns are dangerous and "can blow up and put your eye out!"
