I picked up a Coast to Coast Master Mag pretty cheap a couple weeks ago. It looked like it fell out of someone's truck on a gravel road. For all intents this is a Mossberg 500 and parts interchange. The reciever was scratched pretty deep so I filled them in with JB Weld after prep work.

Shortened the barrel to 20" and added a pistol grip and Weaver no drill scope mount. The BSA red dot was on sale for $20. It sat in an evidence locker for who knows how long and I had to detail strip everything to get the sand and funk out of the bolt and trigger assembly. Need a forend and maybe an adjustable stock. I'm thinking Cerakote for a finish. Only about $120 into it so far.

Hmm...Do you really plan on trying to use a scoped shotgun with a pistol grip? I see a headache coming on. Sounds like a fun project so far though. I did one almost identical but without the scope.

Being a big guy I haven't had any problems with recoil yet but like I said above I'm still think about an adjustable stock. I haven't shot any slugs or 3" shells yet but I think that will make my decision for me.

Well, been a little crazy with Christmas and all but here is where I stand on the 500. Pistol grip wasn't cool so I painted the original stock for the time being. I still plan to use this one for hunting too so I wanted to keep the optic on. Here it is as it stands now.

I still plan on getting an adjustable stock and a forearm.

Thanks, took a couple days to get that one. The "bayonet" has an 11" blade for severing parts.
