I would like to install front optic sights on three shotguns.
Do they unscrew? I see that several companies sell optic sights with threads.
I want to install one on a Browning BPS, an Italian DB and a Spanish O/U.
Are all the threads the same?

    Thanks for for your help!

    That doesn't answer my question.
I want to install a fiber optic sight.

Yes they Almost always unscrew. No they are not all the same thread. If you get one that does screw in they are always long and have to be cut off and polished to match the inside of the barrel.

This is only true for a shotgun without a rib, and all the ones he listed (almost) surely do have a rib.

Thank you. I knew that of course but did not think of it when I did that quick reply to the OP's question. In some cases the threaded shank might still have to be shortened but tou would not have to be concerned about it protuding into the barrel like on rib-less guns.
hrobalabama1 the thread size you could likely look up on the web for the Browning but the others might not be so easy. Many US makers used 3-56 thread size but there are many that use other sizes.

When you are going on 85 and your eyes are bad, a fiber optic is your best bet.
Many years ago, I had and Ithaca "Featherlight" Model 37 and it had a Raybar front sight.
I did my best wing shooting than ever with that gun.

I'm only 40, but I am very familiar with that feeling. Macular degeneration in both eyes, and I have lost around 70% of the vision in my right eye. Fiber optic sights are a blessing.
