    Dear All

Few months ago I inherent a shot gun from my grandfather.
The information I know is manufactured before 1900's and is of English make from my police licence.
    Please find attached some photos.

    Thank you in advanced

Nice dolls-head lock shotgun- but we REALLY need photos that are IN FOCUS. The markings we would look for (especially the first 2 pictures) are completely unreadable. In focus, well lighted, high resolution pics that we can enlarge.

In the meantime, welcome- when you get a minute, swing by the Introduction thread, say hello, and tell us about yourself

Only maybe on those two statements.
Try natural day light (outside) for the pictures sometimes that helps. Redo the first two pics and one of the flat part of the receiver(where the barrels rest).

the proofs are still hard for me to identify but it looks like the- - 1868-1925 Birmingham definitive black powder proof for shotguns. I blew it up and enhanced it and that is what I think it is.

Foreign guns are not my area. Someone else will likely help you with that.
Is there no other markings on the gun?
If not then identifying the maker will be difficult or impossible.
