Does anyone know if the Shooter Arms 1911's are series 70 or 80's. thanks in advance.
It has no FPS. In Colt speak, it's a Pre-Series 80.
Colt Series-70 used a collet bushing. I presume your doesn't.
Thanks for the info. I do not have one just doing some research.
i had never heard of them until you mentioned them in this thread and had to check out their website. i kind of like what i saw. from the pictures, they seem to be well made and they look good to boot. if they are like any of the other 1911's made in the Phillipine Islands, they should be excellent pistols. so far i have failed to see any prices on them yet. i might have to search further.
keeping tuned to this thread to see what others find out about them.
Century International was selling them for $450 until their stock was depleted and I didn't see them listed in the last last catalog I received. My shooting partner bought one sometime ago and has had no problems with it that I know of.
It is another firearms manufacturer from the PI.
My concern would be on aftermarket parts fitting without major modification.
They have them at Gander Mountain but they are $549 http://centerfiresystems.com/SA-ELITE45.aspx here they are $399 and they also have a commander for the same price.
Just like Metro Arms and RIA all parts will fit. Nothing needed that a Colt or SA wouldn't need.
I finally got one and it is a model 70.
Very nice! Range report?
After 100 rds not one issue other than act mag magazine that came with it is a real tight fit but it still functioned properly, gonna replace anyways. The fit and finish is fairly nice for a 1911 in this price range, 1 thing I did notice on complete tear down was the mainspring housing area is very sharp the edges are not rounded off would recommend filing them as I found out the hard way with a nice cut on my trigger finger as I was reassembling will do this on next tear down.
Are you talking about the ATI FX45?
I was thinking about buying one , I found one for $599.00 out the door, is this too much?
No it's a commodore "4.25 I got from centerfire systems for $399.00 just put another 100 rds through it tonight and still no issues.
