That's right folks, our favorite week on television is celebrating 25yrs starting this Sunday, 8/12/12 at 9pm. Clear your schedule, set your dvr's and stock up on your favorite tv snacks because the sharks are back in town :D

I used to love Shark Week, but have they filmed any new episodes for this year? I can't tell you how many times I have had the DVR set only to wind up with Air Jaws, the guy who swims with great whites and the reoccurring stories of people that got bit and lived.

Let's see some new sharks man! Let's see Douchebags vs. Sharks!

Now follow me here. We round up all the reality TV retards and we take them out on a "party boat" of the Southern Coast of Africa. They are drinking and laughing and dancing like monkeys at their first fire*. In the meantime we are baiting and chumming the water do draw in the big ones.

Then the viewing audience can text in numbers to a preset series of "accidents" that will randomly go off. Want to see someone get vaulted off the top deck? Text "1" to this special number and wait as one of the seat cushions on one of the couches becomes an ejection seat!

Want to see someone get slapped silly and go over a railing? Text "2" to this number and watch as the votes build up the pressure in a giant, spring loaded, rubberized hand that will bitch slap someone into the middle of next week.

We get cameras rolling on deck, special slo-mo accident cams and then we have teams of underwater cameras to watch as the contestants meet a violent and satisfyingly bloody end in the maws of death. :D

    Who's with me?!?!

Dillinger, maybe it would be more interesting if they took all death row inmates and lifers and incorporated them into shark week. Drop a few at a time and see how long they make it...

Loving it! It is amazing what we have learned in such a short time about these incredible animals :)

and yet even with all that research it is only a fraction of what is possible

    sooooo cool :)

I was watching it the other day where the researchers put g-force sensors into a decoy seal ... 29 G's! when the great white breached and struck the decoy  more than enough force to pulverize a human

I believe a G is the force calculated that gravity exerts. No?

So that would be 29 times the force of gravity?!?! Where is Sebbie? I need that big beautiful brain here.

I don't think there is a way you could possibly live if you got hit that hard! The force of the jaws themselves would turn your internal organs to goo.

That is just a vicious, purpose built, killing machine!

That's right, 1G is equal to the force of gravity.

The researchers stated that on average a pilot endures 3-4 Gs while taking off from an aircraft carrier. That 8-9G's will usually cause a person to black out. They stated that anywhere around 15 G's is almost certain death

so 29Gs from the strike of a shark ... :(
