I've been offered a brand new ruger sr40 with case, two mags, two holsters, a few boxes of ammo and trigger lock for 450$. The man who owns it bought it brand new but has never fired a round through it. Is this a good deal?

Much as i love rugers that is to much.

Offer him 375 and if he wont take it offer 400$ but not a penny more.

If you buy it, post pics asap

Well why is it bad if a brand new ruger with fewer accessories is 550$?

Wait 550$! You said 450 which is to much.

If its 550 kiss it off and find a good used one at a local gun show.

I still say offer 375 then 400 but you can find a better polymer for that price than a ruger

So why is ruger charging so much for their guns?

It is an OK deal depending on how many 9mm rounds and how good the holsters are. Around where I love you can get SR40's at the LGS for $425-$450 so depending on what you're getting with it how good the deal is.

He says his absolute bottom dollar because I'm a friend is 450$. Should I still try to talk him down?

I just picked up a brand new SR40 at my LGS last week for $439.00 plus tax. Comes with the case, 2 mags, lock and speed loader.

That said if it's never been fired (other than the factory test fire) and he's throwing in two holsters and ammo it sounds fair.

So I've heard this is a great deal and a bad deal. However most handguns in ruger's SR series start at 500$ roughly and when I checked my 2012 edition of Modern Gun Values it states an SR9 in like new quality is worth $575. So can somebody give me an idea of what this gun should actually be worth?

Academy Sports has them for $449.00. Like I posted I picked one up just the other day for $439.00. Bass Pro has the SR9 for about $500.00. The SR40 & SR9 normally run the same price. Buds has them at $403.00.

$450.00 with holsters and ammo seems an okay deal to me. Not a great deal but not a bad deal.

It's an OK deal on a very good gun. If you're both happy at the deal take it or spend more time trying to save $25-$35... is the few dollars worth the time?
