Which semi-auto shotguns are best for using a variety of ammo from 2.75" Federal 8 shot to 3" 00 buck to Slugs, etc. I prefer main brands

the market today is narrow. it seems to be right down the european import line like, beretta, bennelli, hawk, and all the other 3rd world imports.
if its a black gun you want, there are plenty to choose from.

Buy a MD arms gas regulator (v-plug) buy a stainless steel puck & drill your gas port 5/32. You'll be able to shoot bird shots

Remington 11-87, Winchester SX3, Browning Silver, Beretta 300 in gas actions. Benelli and Franchi Affinity in inertia actions. Massberg and Stoeger also have models, but I have heard mixed reviews on flexibility with those.
