So there all over the news now and I've heard the name before but I don't understand much about the Spec Ops community (I'm sure thats the way they like it). I've read they are a command and not a Seal Team, I've read they are like an All-Star team made up of Seals from other Teams, I've read they are not a real stand alone team and it's just an easy cover used by the Seals to make their achievements more anonymous. I don't believe a lot of what I have read because it came from the internet and Wikipedia without a lot of references.

So can someone a bit more in the know explain what exactly Seal Team 6 is? Also if/how they are different from other Seal Teams and any other important or interesting FACTS about them. Please don't guess or speculate in this thread without stating specifically it's a guess or speculation, there is enough misinformation available online already.

Seal teams are seperated into specialties. Team six is the anti terrorism team, just like other teams are bomb and comm specialists. I am not sure what all the teams break down to but they all have the same training outside of their "specialities"

I tried that link but when I clicked it I was flashbanged, hog tied then taken to a 3rd world country where I was "aggressively interrogated". Only after I swore an oath to never again try that link was I released, on a raft in the middle of the Ocean.

Each SEAL team is assigned a different theater of operations. Some are tasked with Asia, some with South America, Team 6 is Anti Terrorism. After a SEAL candidate finishes B/UDs, he gets assigned to a team. Before he becomes a full SEAL, he must pass the team's interviews, and learn their basic skill, which is often a language. Team 6 trains it's FNGs in Anti-Terrorism things. Such as breach and clear, and instinct shooting. If you want to learn more about SEALs in General, I'd recommend "The Warrior Elite" by Couch.
