Some of you already know I was planing to build a 1,000 yard Grendel. But the gun was going to take so much time and money I just decided to go with a bolt gun. So here it is my new long range toy.

Nice stick, but you should've bought a 6.5 Creedmoor if you were thinking about the Grendel.
The 308 will do 1k,but it's running out of steam doing it.

Yeah but .308 is easy ammo to find

I've been looking at a Grendel but find it too expensive. The 6.5 creedmore is tempting but I can't find a factory gun with a threaded barrel. Isn't the 6.5 made from 308 brass?
So I am down to the 700 tactical. I hear it shoots as well as it looks.
    Nice choice!

Any competent gunsmith can thread a barrel.
    The 6.5 Creedmoor is based off the 30 T/C cartridge,not a 308. I have resized 22-250 brass into 6.5 Creedmoor,and it works just fine.
Nosler is making Creedmoor brass now,so it will be the best available brass for it.

I haven't shot it yet but I'm sure it's as good as advertised. It's said to be sub 1/2 moa meaning you can put 5 rounds on a nickle at 100 yards. And 5 rounds inside a 5" square at 1,000.
