Yes. Savage does not want to fix the problem and I have contacted them several times. The stock is designed for iron sights and has too much drop for a scope. I modified mine with a 6"x6" piece of kydex. Best solution is a Boyds stock but you have to replace the bottom metal. Mainly the trigger guard. The last time I complained they sent me to new trigger gaurds and mag plates free. If enough people complain they might fix the problem. I did not want to spend the money or increase the weight so I modified the last one.

That's a pretty slick! I was thinkin about doing that to my 7mm-08 because I have a scope with a big objective that has to be mounted kind of high. Did u add any wieght to the butt stock? To balance out the bull barrel?
