It would be great if you could look at this rifle. I have a nearly identical rifle. From past experience Bubba can do a number on a 99.

Those rifles were made in the day corrosive primers. Also, stocks can develop small cracks. Great rifle. I remember buying a nice 300 caliber Savage 99 for a friend for $75.00 many years ago. People are starting to appreciate these unique rifles. The receiver is the balance point where blue gets worn away.

Paid 400 for my '35 EG in .300 Sav. Case color gone, but everything orig and no extra holes.
Sold it for what I paid a yr later.
Of course now supposedly, they fetch more.

They are neat, but how much is that worth?

    I hunt, so want a D&T featherweight.

I had three of these.. 1901 ...1899 in 30-30..half octagon barrel. 1937 , 99. in 300 sav... and a 1970's.. .308 99E.. I sold the 300 sav,, I'm getting the stock repaired on the 30-30.. But I'm not a collector either.. Just cool old Rifles..
