I am currently extremly intrested in the new tactical sniper 308. Cal savage its got a great bolt throw. Stock is a little weird but not bulky and the whole gun looks nice minus the side mounted sling attach pins. Any comments or suggestions before I spend the money. I know there are thousands of rounds so please I'm set on 308. And most likley a savage or rem type setup

Savage 10fp or a Remington 700p, I don't have either, but I've looked into getting one. Great reviews on them.

    Own a Remington 700 sps tactical 308.
One hell of a gun. Shots half moa with federal gold match ammo. Even with Hogue stock flaw. Upgrade the stock, which I'm currently in the process of doing, and it will be a great gun for many years to come.

I have 2 Savage 308's,a 12FLV & 10FCP.Both are excellent shooters, and I happen to like the sling swivels on the sides on the Tactical stock. It keeps the entire rifle close to your body while carrying.
Tikka also makes a very nice Varmint & Tactical 308.
I shoot LH,and can't get Beretta to import me one,or I would have a Tikka also.

So you, like the side mounts i've never had a rifle with them? They are decent for hunting.

Dose any body suggest this rifle for game? What would be your? I hunted with a gentlemen who took a huge six by six with a 308 british. Well that's what he said it was. All I know is it took five Men and a rhino with a winch to get it off the, hill

the 308 will be fine for most game hunting in North America. as long as you use the proper ammo for the intended game. now the rifle in question will work fine, unless you are carrying it all day then that heavy rifle will be a big burden. that is the only downside i see with the rifle. if you are hunting from a blind, then it won't be as bad. i think he meant 303 British round. it's ballistics are pretty close to the 30-06 round if i remember correctly.

I'll be deer hunting tomorrow with my cousin,I'm going to use my 12FLV 308,my cousin will be shooting my 110FLP 25/06,and after we deer hunt we are going to call up some yotes and we'll be hunting with my 12FLVSS 223 and my RRA 20" Varminter.
All of them are heavy barreled rifles, and it isn't too bad carrying them around all day. Now,if you are trekking up and down mountain sides, you might want to reach for a lighter weight rifle, but the heavy barrels really aren't that bad if you aren't stalking animals.

Thank you for your answers guys. I still haven't made up my mind but the 308 is a nice looking gun and its gonna need to be carry all day approved. So I'm not sure it but I did get to test fire one at the range with a friend and I think I may be hooked I like the accu trigger reminds me of my mod 21 glock. Has anyone heard problems with the action or triger set up?

Savage actions are rock solid. The only problems that are had with an Accu-trigger are when they are turned down too low (mainly the triggers on the factory target rifles),the trigger can be set off when closing the bolt,or bumping the rifle.
